Ferrari 458 Speciale is a Mobile Safe Room

Have you ever looked into the garage of your beautiful red Ferrari and dreamed of raiding terrorist complexes to spin donuts in the middle of gunfire? Are paramilitary vans too clichéd and too slow for your resistance fighters? Fear not, there is a company out there willing to bulletproof your Ferrari without turning it into a multimillion dollar tank.

The company behind the naturally-looking Ferrari 458 Speciale is AddArmor, and if all this sounds a little familiar to you, it should be. In July 2019, we came across a similar creation from AddArmor. Only the car in question was a heavily tuned Audi RS7 Sportback that came with armor and defensive options. Of course, the 458 doesn’t have the same amount of space for troops and ammunition, but for secret agents embarking on a solo mission, this car comes with the company’s B4 armor. It’s not enough to stop the big machine guns, but it will stop Dirty Harry from shooting you in the face with his .44 Magnum.

The armor is not just made of steel welded to the doors. AddArmor uses a special design that the company claims is ten times stronger than ballistic steel and weighs 60% less. This Ferrari’s updated armor only adds 156 pounds, but that weight is further offset by a series of carbon fiber upgrades and an updated exhaust system, the latter adding 40 horsepower (29 kilowatts) to the 4-liter V8, 5 liters the Speciale. With all the modifications added, AddArmor Ferrari weighs just 67 pounds more and is still capable of incredible speeds. It can be the best car defense to avoid dangerous situations.

Obviously nobody is going to seek military action on an armored Ferrari. Indeed, this update provides exceptional protection against attempted kidnapping and related crimes. When you drive something as rare as a 458 Speciale, there are a few areas where these are legitimate concerns. Additionally, AddArmor claims that it can provide such protection for any exotic or standard car as an anti-intrusion package and the modifications can be uninstalled to return the car to its original state.

The price for the anti-intrusion package starts at $ 28,000.
