The Lamborghini Sián is the most powerful car the Italian super car manufacturer has ever made, and the company’s first hybrid. Now the 807 hp coupe gets an equally strong roadster brother.
Lamborghini announced the Sián FKP 37 last September and found that only 63 would be built and that they had already been discussed. Lamborghini showed the new Sián Roadster on Wednesday and announced that 19 more buyers can buy a Sián, which makes the Roadster even more exclusive than the coupe.
This is not a convertible. There is no top to convert. The homeless Sián Roadster cabin is always open to the elements, which are usually a heated garage in a luxury home. Nevertheless, it could be nice to have a roof with a top speed of more than 300 km / h.
According to Lamborghini, the body of the roadster is not aerodynamically penalized compared to the coupé. Like the coupé, the design elements of the Countach from the 70s and 80s are inspired. In aerial photography, Lamborghini focuses specifically on the line that runs diagonally from the inside to the back and culminates in the gondolas behind each seat.
The car that Lamborghini revealed was painted with Blu Uranus, which, according to company information, captures the blue of the sky and the green of the fields. The wheels are made of Electrum Gold (a gold color, not a Harry Potter spell) and the interior color scheme is white with blue glauco accents. Lamborghini’s personal advertising department customizes each buyer’s color scheme, and the company uses 3D printing to add customer initials to the vents.
The Sián Roadster gets the same advanced drivetrain as the coupe. It combines the brand’s V-12, which produces 774 hp here, with an electronic 48-volt motor that adds an additional 34 hp at 81 mph and slower. The engine is in the seven-speed automatic transmission.
Instead of a lithium-ion battery, the motor runs on a supercapacitor that is lighter than a battery and, according to Lamborghini, three times heavier. To improve the weight balance, the supercapacitor is located between the engine compartment and the cabin. The motor and supercapacitor only add 77 pounds to the mass of the car, and the supercapacitor refills its juice after each braking action to maintain additional power at all times. The Sian Roadster can only be parked with the power of the electrons and vice versa, and the motors ensure a torque filling between the gears.
Lamborghini mentions a 0-62mph time of 2.9 seconds for the Sián Roadster, which is slightly slower than the promised time of the coupe of 2.8 seconds. Lamborghini says that “Sián” in Italian Bolognese dialect means “lightning” or “lightning”, and both are good descriptions of the acceleration of the car.
The Sian Roadster isn’t cheap: $ 3,297,632, to be exact. All 19 were sold in case you were wondering.
