According to a new report from TheSupercarBlog, Bugatti is to build a unique Chiron roadster. Details of the exclusive model are sparse, though the release reports that the new Chiron model will cost £ 9m ($ 11m) excluding taxes. An arrival like Chiron with a sliding roof makes sense because we haven’t yet seen any of the French custom manufacturers.
We contacted Bugatti to confirm that the model is being developed and will update the story as soon as we get a response. Car manufacturers are reluctant to comment on future products. However, it would not be the first Bugatti convertible. When the automaker produced the Bugatti Veyron, it offered the Grand Sport. However, it was not a unitary model like Chiron.
An interesting part of the report is that the publication stated: “The [Top-Top] Chiron is being offered to customers.” It gives the impression that it is more than a single model. However, this does not mean that you cannot have super limited production. The high price means that it will be something exclusive.
TheSupercarBlog believes the open Chiron could also be something special, suggesting that a Sprinter model with an enveloping windshield, as Veyron Barchetta says, could develop Bugatti. The automaker had few problems expanding the Chiron range with new large and exclusive models. Well, as often as Bugatti will.
The Chiron convertible would connect to an area that is already filled with other Bugatti models. Since launching the Chiron in 2016, Bugatti has launched several new models, including the Chiron Pur Sport and the Super Sport 300+. Then there are the exclusive ones like Divo and Centodieci. An open version, whether you follow the Grand Sport or Veyron Barchetta route, would be fine. We doubt that Bugatti will have trouble finding interested customers.
